Fazio Breaks Program, Facility Record in 500m at VMI Winter Relays

LEXINGTON, Va. -- Freshman Brooke Fazio may be in her first season with the Spiders, but she is wasting no time in making changes to the Spider Track & Field record books.

On the first day of the VMI Winter Relays, Fazio broke the facility record and the program record in the 500m event, crossing the line at 1:12.74 in the event. The Basking Ridge, N.J. native broke Tamika Williams' record in the 500m which she set in 2001.

The 4x800m relay team (Erika Echternach, Rebecca Fagan, Abigail Seaberg, and Madeline Ustanik) took third finishing in a time of 10:06.23. Echternach finished third overall in the 1,000m (3:09.71) while Ustanik took eighth (3:19.50)

In the 60m preliminary hears, Morgan Towe clocked a time of 8.14 while Zenia Vrakas came in at 8.73. Haley Berkeley logged a 10.12 in the 60m hurdles prelims.
