Rocco’s Record Impressive Following Losses
In his eight-years as a head coach, Richmond Danny Rocco has lost back-to-back conference games once – to Gardner-Webb (L, 24-27) and Coastal Carolina (L, 26-28) during the 2006 season at Liberty. In total, Rocco led teams are 17-8 in games following losses.
Spiders Against Ranked Opponents
Dating back to the start of the 2007 season, Richmond has posted a record of 21-17 against ranked opponents. The Spiders’ last win on the road against a ranked opponent came on October 16, 2010 when Richmond defeated No. 8 Massachusetts, 11-10.
Prolific Combination at Receiver
Senior Ben Edwards and redshirt junior Stephen Barnette are the nation’s most prolific wide receiver combination. Edwards ranks third in the nation in receptions per game (8.8) and 26th in receiving yards per game (88.3), while Barnette is ranked ninth in the country in yards per game (108.2) and 24th in receptions per contest (6.2).
Richmond Interception Streak at 15 Games
With DB Wayne Pettus’ and DB Reggie Barnette’s interceptions last week against Maine, Richmond has recorded at least one pick in 15-straight games. Over that stretch, the Spiders have intercepted a total of 33 passes. Richmond led the FCS in interceptions last season with 24.
