Herbert Peterson lettered in football and basketball during the late 1920's and led the state of Virginia in scoring in basketball in both his junior and senior years (1927-28). He was All-State both ways in football and All-State three straight years in basketball. He later became president of the Peoples Finance Company in Richmond.
