Mac Pitt played quarterback on the Richmond football team, third base on the baseball team, and ran track in 1915. He served as the Director of Athletics for 25 years and won 198 games as Richmond's basketball coach over 19 seasons. Coach Pitt coached the only unbeaten basketball team in UR history (20-0). He was the Spiders' baseball coach for 37 years. He is the namesake for UR's Pitt Field.
