Sharon Dunsing was a four-time All-American in women's tennis in 1981 and 1982. She won national titles in singles and in doubles in 1981 and in 1982. A native of Richmond, Virginia and a 1979 graduate of Douglas Freeman High School, Dunsing helped the Spiders win the school's first national title when the tennis team won the AIAW National Championship in Greeley, Colorado in 1982. Dunsing was the top seed and won the No. 3 singles at the 1982 AIAW national Tennis Championships. She combined with fellow UR Hall of Famer Martha Beddingfield Puryear to win the #1 doubles.
