Richmond Ranked 20th In Golfweek Top-50 Poll

RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Richmond men's golf team is ranked 20th in this week's Division I men's golf Golfweek top-50 poll. In addition, Richmond is the only Colonial Athletic Association team and the lone team from the state of Virginia to be ranked among the top 20 teams.
The Spiders achieved its highest ranking in program history, rising to the 10th spot in the Sept. 12 poll, following their win at the season-opening Navy Fall Classic. At last week's James Madison University Invitational, Richmond tied for 8th place.
Through two events in the fall campaign, Richmond sophomore Steve Lessing (Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y./Cold Spring Harbor) leads the team with a scoring average of 72.8. Senior Joe Horowitz (Long Beach, N.Y./Long Beach) follows at 73.0.
Richmond returns to action on September 25 and 26 (Monday and Tuesday), taking part in the Liberty Fall Classic in Lynchburg, Va.
