UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -
The 111th football meeting between Richmond and William & Mary - the nation's fourth oldest rivalry - served as a backdrop for a memorable weekend of events on the UR campus November 16th and 17th.
Spearheaded by UR Hall of Famer and former NFL standout Walker Gillette(UR 1966-'69, NFL 1970-'77), more than 100 former Spiders who played for Coach Frank Jones (1966-1973, three Southern Conference titles, 1968 Tangerine Bowl victory) returned for an emotional reunion dinner Friday night.
Saturday morning, they joined many other former Spiders who saw their name and number attached to the new wooden lockers in the remodeled and expanded Robins Center football locker room. "The Locker Room Legends" fundraising campaign aided the renovation project. The new locker room was dedicated during a breakfast ceremony in the Hall of Fame room.
Below are pictures from the reunion and dedication...
