Spiders 14th After Two Days Of Furman Intercollegiate

Greenville, S.C. - Richmond's men's golf team shot 309 on Saturday and stands 14th among the 21-team field after two rounds of the Furman Intercollegiate at the Furman University Golf Course. The Spiders are 32-over-par at 608, 33 shots behind the leader, the host Paladins.
Seniors Joe Horowitz (Long Beach, N.Y./Long Beach) and Bryan Stark (Herndon, Va./Herndon) are tied for 42nd at seven-over-par 151. Horowitz shot 77 on Saturday following his 74 on Friday. Stark carded a 79 during round two to follow his even-par 72 in round one. Junior Ryan McLain (South Hadley, Mass./South Hadley) stands at nine-over-par 153 (75-78). Junior Mark DiGiacomo (Lebanon, Pa./Lebanon Catholic) had Richmond's low round of the day on Saturday, shooting three-over 75 in the second round. He is at 14-over-par 158 for the tournament (83-75). Sophomore Steve Lessing (Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y./Cold Spring Harbor) stands at 16-over-par 160 (78-82).
The 54-hole event concludes with 18 holes on Sunday.
