Williamsburg, Va. - The University of Richmond men's golf team sits in second place, two shots off the lead, after the first day of the 18-team, 36-hole Golden Horseshoe Invitational in Williamsburg, Va. The Spiders shot ten-over-par 298, two strokes behind host William & Mary.
Senior Joe Horowitz (Long Beach, N.Y./Long Beach) had the low round of the day, carding a two-under-par 70. Junior Mark DiGiacomo (Lebanon, Pa./Lebanon Catholic) stands alone in second place, one shot behind Horowitz. They were the only two golfers to finish below par after 18 holes.
The event will conclude on Tuesday with the final 18 holes.
