Second Annual Chuck Boone Golf Classic Slated For May 14

RICHMOND, Va. -- The second annual Chuck Boone Golf Classic will be held on Monday, May 14, 2001 at the Willow Oaks Country Club. The event benefits the Charles S. Boone Scholarship and the Spider Club.
The event commences at 11:00 a.m. with registration and the driving range opening for play. The shotgun tee-off begins at 12:30 p.m. The reception, awards presentation and an auction is slated to begin at 5:30 p.m. The cost is $700 per foursome or $200 for individual entries playing in a modified scramble format. A hole sponsorship and a foursome is $1,000. Beverages and lunch are included. Prizes will be awarded for the longest drive, longest putt and closest to the pin. Each player will receive a special participation gift.
Chuck Boone is a name synonymous with University of Richmond athletics. For over 40 years, Boone served the University of Richmond, first as a student-athlete, then as a coach and finally as long-time athletic director (1977-2000). The Charles S. Boone Scholarship named in his honor, benefits University of Richmond student-athletes.
