Buies Creek, N.C. - The University of Richmond golf team is 11th out of 12 teams after the first round of the Lonnie D. Small Memorial Tournament at the Keith Hills Country Club in Buies Creek, N.C. The Spiders shot 305, 14 strokes behind the leader, the University of Denver.
Senior Joe Horowitz (Long Beach, N.Y./Long Beach) had Richmond's low round, shooting a one-over-par 73. He is tied for 11th, two shots behind the leaders.
The tournament's final round will be held on Tuesday, April 3.
