
Jones Catches Game-Winner In World Bowl

Amsterdam - Former University of Richmond wide receiver Dwaune Jones had the game-winning touchdown catch with 4:08 remaining to give the Berlin Thunder a 24-17 victory over the Barcelona Dragons in the World Bowl in front of 32,116 fans in the Amsterdam ArenA.
Jones pulled in the 53-yard scoring strike from World Bowl MVP quarterback Jonathan Quinn with 4:08 left to give the Thunder the 24-17 lead. Barcelona drove to the Berlin six on its final drive, but a fourth down pass into the end zone was knocked down with 1:03 remaining.
The Seattle Seahawks allocated receiver, Jones had six receptions in the game for 161 yards and two touchdowns. His first score came on a 46-yard pass from Quinn with 1:03 left in the first half that gave the Thunder a 10-9 halftime lead. Barcelona got a touchdown and a two-point conversion in the third period to take a 17-10 lead. Berlin tied the score with 9:47 remaining on a 17-yard TD pass from Quinn to Ahmad Merritt.
Another member of the World Bowl Champion Thunder is former Spider defensive lineman Marc Megna, a linebacker for Berlin.
