Women's Golf Signs Ashley Lambert

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Richmond department of athletics announced today that Ashley Lambert has signed a National Letter of Intent to join head coach LaRee Sugg's women's golf program for the 2003-04 season.
A native of Bradenton, Florida, Lambert earned the Most Improved Swing and Most Positive Attitude honors at the David Leadbetter Golf Academy where she was a full-time student for four years. She earned two top-10 finishes on the AJGA circuit, top-10 at the Pepsi Little People's and a top-five finish at the Southern Junior Championships.
A two-year captain and four-time high school MVP, Lambert earned All-Area honors all four of her prep seasons. She won the Nolan Henke/Patty Berg Junior Masters after posting a 73-74-74 and also won the Donald Ross High School Invitational. She was a runner-up in the district and regional championships.
A dedicated student and leader, Lambert serves as the President of the National Honor Society and is a two-year team captain. She has been on the Honor Roll all four years and is a junior representative of board directors for the Sarasota Junior Golf Association.
The Richmond women's golf team begins its inaugural spring season at the Bradford Creek Intercollegiate in Greenville, N.C. from March 7-9, 2003.
