Men's Golf Finishes 12th at Big Red Classic

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -- The University of Richmond men's golf team finished 12th at the Big Red Classic in Ocala, Fla. after carding a three-round 919 (308-301-310). Lamar won the event after firing a three-round 862 (286-285-291--865).
Junior Kyle Hess led the Spiders and tied for 30th after shooting a three-round 226 (80-72-74). Junior Joe Cunningham was second for Richmond after carding a 229 (77-73-79) and finishing 41st.
Also competing for Richmond was senior Mark DiGiacomo (79-77-78--234/T-56), sophomore Steve Lessing (74-80-80--234/T-56), freshman Steven Sherck (78-79-81--238/T-72) and sophomore Sam Sikes (87-86-79--252/96).
The Spiders will return to action at the Furman Intercollegiate in Greenville, S.C. on March 22.
