Three Richmond Student-Athletes Earn Atlantic 10 Honors

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND -- The University of Richmond garnered three Player of the Week honors from the Atlantic 10 after an outstanding week of competition. The baseball team team went 4-0 and improved to 19-2 on the season. The Spiders are ranked No. 23 by Baseball America. The lacrosse team is off to its best start in program history, 6-2, after winning all three of its games this week. The track & field team continued to impress in its second outdoor event of the season. From those teams, three individual student-athletes were recognized for their outstanding efforts this week.
Sophomore lacrosse attacker Polly Purcell scored nine goals and dished 10 assists in leading the Spiders to three wins. Sophomore Diane Schreiber posted a top-four finish in all four events she entered at the VCU Invitational this past weekend. Sophomore Tim Stauffer threw another gem on the mound, pitching a complete game two-hitter in leading the Spiders to their first-ever win in an Atlantic 10 game -- 10-0 against UMass.
