Men's Golf In Fourth After Two Rounds At Atlantic 10 Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. -- The University of Richmond slipped to fourth place after firing a second-round 285, 10 shots behind event leader Rhode Island at the Atlantic 10 Championships. The Spiders have combined for a three-under par 573 (288-285), one shot back of third place Temple and four shots from second place Xavier at the Iron Forge Golf Course.
Senior Ryan McLain continues to lead the Richmond squad as he is tied for 10th with a two-round 142 (70-72). McLain's two-under par is one shot better than junior Kyle Hess (tied for 13th) who sits at 143 after carding a second-round 72 to go with a 71 in the opening round.
Senior Mark DiGiacomo is tied for 23rd after carding a two-round 146 (75-71), while freshman Parker Hughes is tied for 27th with a 147 (77-70). His two-under second round was the best shot by the team today. Sophomore Steve Lessing is tied for 33rd after firing a two-round 149 (72-77).
Rhode Island's David Spitz and George Washington's Michael Ball share the lead with six-under 138s.
The final round will begin at 8:10 a.m. on Sunday, April 21.
