Senior Student-Athletes Honored

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -
The University of Richmond Athletics Department hosted the school's nearly 450 student-athletes at an end-of-year dessert in the recently-renovated on-campus Tyler Haynes Room Monday night, April 15th.
The celebration, coming near the conclusion of the Spiders first year as full members of the Atlantic 10 conference, focused on the contributions of the senior class.
Each team was introduced, with the head coaches presenting their seniors with a captains' clock with the University of Richmond shield, and a one-year complimentary membership to the Spider Club.
Senior track student-athlete Tiffany Harvey gave the official welcome to the program while senior men's soccer student-athlete gave his reflections on four years at the University of Richmond.
In addition, the following awards were presented:
Presidential Citation Award-Female: Kristin Newkirk (Swimming)
Presidential Citation Award-Male: Mark DiGiacomo (Golf)
The Presidential Citation Award honor the female and male student-athletes with the highest cumulative grade point average.
