Won the inaugural Ukrop's Maymont Invitational on Friday with a time of 19:03.70. Amanda finished the race more than four seconds faster than second-place Danielle Binns, another Spider freshman. Richmond swept the top six places and won the meet that featured eight college teams.
Season-To-Date Recap
Russell has earned two Atlantic 10 Women's Cross Country Freshman of the Week honors so far this season. She garnered her first accolade after finishing fifth at the Lou Onesty Invitational on Sept. 13 and then earned the distinction again this week after winning the Ukrop's Maymont Invitational.

"Amanda works hard and is gaining valuable experience as a top Division I athlete," head coach Lori Taylor said. "We are excited about her future at the University of Richmond."
