Women's Golf In 9th Place Out of 15 Teams At Lady Kat Invitional

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Senior Natasha Lopez Moreira (Asuncion, Paraguay) and freshman Rosario Germino (Necohea, Argentina) are tied for 19th place as the University of Richmond women's golf team is in eighth place after two rounds of the Lady Kat Invitational hosted by the University of Kentucky.
The Spiders are at 38-over par 614 after 36 holes Saturday, eight strokes behind seventh-place Mississippi State. The tournament will conclude Sunday with 18 holes.
Moreira carded a 3-over par 75 in the morning round and then a 5-over 77 in the afternoon to finish the day at 8-over 152. Germino shot a 78 in the morning, but regrouped to shoot a 2-over 74 in the afternoon to sit in a tie for 19th place with Moreira.
Sophomore Ally Caffrey (Rumford, R.I.) shot a 2-over 74 in the morning round and is 11-over and in a tie for 35th place. Junior Ashley Lambert (Bradenton, Fla.) also is at 11-over 155 in a tie for 35th, while senior Lauren Ritter (Watchung, N.J.) finished the day at 170 and is in a tie for 73rd.
Florida leads the tournament at 8-over 584, while North Carolina and Kentucky are tied for second at 14-over. Miami is in fourth at 23-over, followed by East Carolina (27-over), Memphis (28-over), Mississippi State (30-over) and Richmond (38-over). North Carolina-Greensboro and Birmingham Southern are tied for ninth, four strokes behind the Spiders.
