Women's Golf Takes 8th At Lady Kat Invitational

LEXINGTON, Ky. - The University of Richmond women's golf team placed ninth out of 15 teams at the Lady Kat Invitational, hosted by the University of Kentucky this weekend.
Sophomore Natasha Lopez Moreira (Asuncion, Paraguay) shot a 2-over par 74 on Sunday to finish the tournament at 10-over par 226 (75-77-74) in a tie for 18th place. Sophomore Ally Caffrey (Rumford, R.I.) and freshman Rosario Germino (Necohea, Argentina) finished in a tie for 35th at 16-over 232.
Junior Ashley Lambert (Bradenton, Fla.) tied for 47th with a 236 and senior Lauren Ritter (Watchung, N.J.) took 71st with a 250.
Richmond shot a 23-over par 311 in the third and final round Sunday to finish the tournament at 61-over 925, eight strokes behind eighth-place Birmingham Southern.
Florida won the tournament at 17-over par 881, while North Carolina finished second (891), Miami took third (893) and Kentucky placed fourth (894). Mississippi State (896) climbed to fifth with a 2-over par 290 on Sunday, East Carolina was sixth (902) and Memphis (912) finished seventh.
The Spiders return to action Oct. 21-23 when they travel to Greenville, N.C. for the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate.
