Women's Golf In Tie For Sixth Place At Taco Bell Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE, N.C. - Sophomore Ally Caffrey (Rumford, R.I.) carded an even-par 72 to lead the University of Richmond women's golf team in the first round of the Taco Bell Intercollegiate on Friday at the Bradford Creek Country Club.
The Spiders finished the first day of the three-day tournament at 8-over par 296, in a tie with Coastal Carolina. Maryland and Mercer are tied for fourth, just two strokes ahead of Richmond.
Caffrey is in a tie for 13th place, while Richmond junior Natasha Lopez Moreira (Asuncion, Paraguay) had a 2-over par 74 and is in a tie for 32nd.
Freshman Rosario Germino (Necohea, Argentina) shot a 77 and senior Lauren Ritter (Watchung, N.J.) had an 81.
The second round of the three-round tournament will be held Saturday with the final round on Sunday.
