Women's Golf Finishes Fifth At Ross Resorts

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. - The University of Richmond women's golf team finished fifth out of 12 teams at the Ross Resorts Collegiate Invitational which concluded Tuesday at Pine Needles Golf Club.
Augusta State won the tournament by tiebreaker over Georgia State with both schools finishing at 53-over-par 905. Yale took third at 66 over and Princeton was fourth at 71-over, seven strokes ahead of Richmond.
Richmond sophomore Natasha Lopez Moreira (Asuncion, Paraquay) finished in a two-way tie for 10th with a 15-over-par 228 (79-72-77) on the 6,139-yard, par 71 Pine Needles Golf Course. The finish was her second top-10 finish in as many tournaments.
Junior Lauren Ritter (Watchung, N.J.) posted her top finish of the season, tying for 16th at 20-over-par 233 (79-74-80). Freshman Rosario Germino (Necohea, Argentina) took 26th at 24-over-par 237 (83-77-77) and sophomore Ally Caffrey (Rumford, R.I.) finished 27th with a 25-over-par 238 (78-78-82).
Junior Ashley Lambert (Bradenton, Fla.) tied for 30th at 27-over-par 240 (86-74-80).
Richmond wraps up the 2005 fall season at the Lady Jaguar Invitational in Augusta, Ga. next Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
