Men's Golf Tees Off On Valentine's Day

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Spider men's golf team tees-off its spring season on Valentine's Day in sunny Orlando, Fla. at the UCF/Rio Pinar Intercollegiate.
The two-day event features 36 holes on Monday and the final 18 on Tuesday at the Rio Pinar Country Club. Richmond is one of 18 teams vying for the team title. Four of the nation's top-50 squads will be competing.
Senior Steven Sherck led Richmond with a 75.2 scoring average in the fall while freshman Billy Hanes was a shade behind at 75.3.
Sherck shot his lowest round of last season (68), in the second round of the Rio Pinar event. The Spiders finished ninth overall last spring, led by Tyler Randol's 223 (73-75-75) which tied him for 21st.
