Women's Golf Tied For 12th After Two Rounds Of Cougar Classic

HANAHAN, S.C. - The University of Richmond women's golf team is in a tie for 12th place out of 17 teams after two rounds of the Cougar Classic played Sunday at Yeamans Hall. The third and final round will be played Monday.
The Spiders shot a 16-over par 304 in the morning round and then a 15-over par 303 in the afternoon as they sit at 31-over 607 in a tie with the host College of Charleston.
Richmond sophomore Natasha Lopez Moreira (Asuncion, Paraguay) leads the Spiders at 5-over par 149 which has her tied for 22nd after carding rounds of 75 and 74 on the par-72 course. Junior Ashley Lambert (Bradenton, Fla.) is tied for 29th with 150 (76-74), one stroke behind Moreira.
Freshman Rosario Germino (Necohea, Argentina) shot a 79 in the morning round but regrouped to shoot a 2-over 74 in the afternoon and is at 11-over 153 in a tie for 46th. Fellow freshman Julia Nouss (Saint Louis, Mo.) shot a 2-over 74 in the morning and sits at 12-over 155 in a tie for 56th. Senior Whitney McComis finished the day with 177 and is in 89th place.
The final round of the Cougar Classic will be played Monday morning.
