Utley One Shot Off Lead As Men's Golf In Third Heading Into Final Round Of Joe Agee

TOANO, Va. - Richmond junior Jordan Utley is tied for second place overall, one stroke off the lead, as the Richmond men's golf team is in third place out of 18 teams at the Joe Agee Invitational played Monday at Stonehouse Golf Club.
Utley carded a 4-under-par 66 in the first round and then a 1-over 71 in the second round on the 6,646-yard course. Loyola's Blake Furgerson is the leader in the clubhouse heading into Tuesday's final round at 4-under 136 (66-70). Utley is tied with Princeton's John Sawin for second place at 3-under par 137.
The Spiders posted a 10-over 290 in the morning round, which had them in second place, but Old Dominion carded a 6-under 274 in the second round to swap spots with Richmond, which shot 6-over 286 in the afternoon.
Loyola is the leader at 4-over 564, with Old Dominion in second at 565, Richmond in third at 576 and Princeton is fourth at 579. Richmond's Atlantic 10 rival Saint Joseph's is in sixth at 583 and George Washington is tied for 15th at 602.
Richmond senior John Pelet shot a 4-over 74 in the morning, but came back with a 2-under 68 in the afternoon to sit in a tie for 13th at 2-over 142. Richmond junior Billy Hanes is tied for 25th at 6-over 146 (74-72), while sophomore Grant Rafield is tied for 55th after two rounds of 76 (152) and freshman Hunter Townsend is tied for 65th at 153 (78-75).
The third and final round of the 54-hole tournament will be played on Tuesday morning.
