
Rafield Tied For 39th As Men's Golf In 12th After Two Rounds Of 49er Classic

CONCORD, N.Y. - The Richmond men's golf team is tied for 12th after two rounds of the Sleep Inn & Suites Charlotte 49er Classic played on Monday at the par-72, 7,098-yard Cabarrus Country Club.
The third and final round is being played Tuesday.
Sophomore Grant Rafield is tied for 39th at 12-over 156 (79-77). Senior John Pelet and junior Jordan Utley are tied for 43rd at 13-over 157. Pelet shot a 78 in the first round and 79 in the second, while Utley shot 75 and 82.
Junior Chris Bagley, playing in his first tournament of the season after recovering from an injury, is tied for 53rd at 159 (80-79). Freshman Hunter Townsend is tied for 74th at 164 (79-85).
The Spiders are tied with George Washington in 12th place 628. Richmond shot a 311 in the first round and 317 in the second round under cold and windy conditions. Only two players enter round three with sub-par overall scores.
