Men's Tennis Drops To Elon, 4-2, On Sunday

ELON, N.C. - The University of Richmond men's tennis team dropped to Elon, 4-2, on Sunday afternoon in Elon, N.C. Bobby McNally earned his second No. 2 singles win of the weekend as he defeated Austin Fenn, and Brett Waikart fought hard for his second win of the weekend, earning a win at the No. 6 singles spot on Sunday. The Spiders, now 4-7, return to action on Feb. 24 when they will face Longwood in Farmville, Va.

2) McNally (R) def. Austin Fenn (E), 6-4, 7-5
3) Belakhlef (R) lost to Sebastian Bredberg (E), 7-6, 6-4
4) Louis (R) lost to Gustaf Asplund (E), 6-3, 7-5
5) Sommer (R) lost to Kevin Colin (E), 6-2, 7-5
6) Waikart (R)def. Kevin Beard (E), 6-3, 3-6, 7-6
Richmond head coach Steve Gerstenfeld was proud of his team's effort this weekend. "We've been consistently playing better week by week," stated Gerstenfeld. "We look a lot different than one month ago and the guys are playing with a lot of heart these days."
