
Lambert Ties For Eighth As Women's Golf Takes 10th At Lady Seahawk

WALLACE, N.C. - Junior Ashley Lambert tied for eighth as the University of Richmond women's golf team finished 10th out of 13 teams at the UNCW Lady Seahawk Invitational which concluded Tuesday at River Landing Golf Club.
The Spiders finished with a 949 (307-319-323), three strokes behind ninth-place Mercer. Kentucky won the tournament, Western Carolina finished second and host UNC-Wilmington took third.
Lambert shot a 4-over-par 76 on Tuesday to finish the tournament at 11-over 227. She shot a 2-over-par 74 in the opening round and a 77 in the second round. It was Lambert's second-straight top-10 finish, and the fifth of her career.
"This is the second tournament in a row that Ashley has had a solid showing in all three rounds," Richmond coach Leighann Rastede said. "She's in a good place both mentally and physically. She is ready to make the next step. I see her having some more big finishes in the near future."
Freshman Rosario Germino tied for 34th at 21-over-par 237 (76-77-84) and senior Lauren Ritter finished 50th with a 242.
Senior Lesley Monachino tied for 51st, one stroke back of Ritter at 242. Sophomore Alex Latimer finished in a tie for 66th at 254.
The Spiders return to action on Monday and Tuesday at the John Kirk/Lady Panther Intercollegiate in Atlanta, Ga.
