Utley Named Atlantc 10 Player Of The Week

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Richmond senior Jordan Utley was named the Atlantic 10 Men's Golf Player of the Week after winning the ODU/Seascape Invitational held on Oct. 29-30at Seascape Golf Club in Kitty Hawk, N.C.
Utley finished the tournament at 3-under-par 137 to win by one stroke. He shot a 3-under 67 in the first round and an eve-par 70 in the second and final round. Utley closed the fall season with three-straight rounds at 70 or below and five-straight rounds at par or below.
Utley gave the Spiders their second-straight individual victory and second-straight A-10 Player of the Week honor. Sophomore Hunter Townsend won the Georgetown Hoya Invitational on Oct. 22-23 and earned Atlantic 10 Player of the Week honors for his win.
The tournament victory was the second of Utley's career and this is the third Atlantic 10 Player of the Week honor for the Richmond, Va. native. Utley won the Joe Agee Invitational Oct. 2-3 at Stonehouse Golf Club in Williamsburg, Va. He is just the fifth player in Spider goal history to win multiple tournaments.
Richmond tied for fifth at the ODU/Seascape Invitational, the Spiders third-straight top-5 finish in four fall tournaments.
The Spiders open the 2008 spring season at the Cuthbert Feb. 24-26.
