Men's Golf Tied For Fourth After First Round Of Small Classic

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Junior Jordan Utley is tied for third after an opening round 71 and the Richmond men's golf team is tied for fourth at the Lonnie D. Small Classic, being held at Keith Hills Country Club No. 1.
The second and final round will be played Tuesday.
Utley shot an even-par 36 on the front nine and a 1-under 35 on the back of the par-72, 6,703-yard course. He is one stroke out of second place and two strokes off the lead.
Richmond is tied for fourth at 298, one stroke behind Radford (297), two strokes behind second-place Elon and five off first-lace Campbell (293).
Senior John Pelet is tied for eighth after shooting a 73.He went 1-under on the front nine and 2-over on the back. Junior Billy Hanes shot a 76 (38-38) and is tied for 22nd.
Junior Chris Bagley and sophomore Grant Rafield are tied for 33rd with 78s. Bagley shot a 39 on each side and Rafield went 1-over 37 on the front and 41 on the back.
