MANHATTAN, Kansas - The Richmond men's golf team opens the 2007-08 season on Monday at the Jim Colbert Intercollegiate at Colbert Hills Golf Club.
The nine-team tournament is three rounds, with 36 holes being played on Monday at 8:30 a.m. and the final round of 18 on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.
Richmond returns all but one player off last year's team and adds sophomore transfer Robert Lindstrom from Birmingham Southern. Lindstrom won two Division I tournaments last year and finished first in qualifying for the Colbert Intercollegiate.
The Spiders will also travel senior Jordan Utley, who was medalist at the Joe Agee Invitational last fall and finished second on the team in scoring average in 2006-07. Junior Tim Courtney, who led the team in scoring average last year, along with senior Billy Hanes and sophomore Hunter Townsend, will also make the trip.
Colbert Hills Golf Course is a par-72, 7,525-yard championship that was recently ranked as the sixth-best college course in the nation by Golfweek. Colbert Hills and Kansas State hosted the NCAA Central Regional in May 2003.
