UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, to officially open the Bill and Elaine Bugg Student-Athlete Strength & Conditioning Center on the bottom floor of the Robins Center.
Bill is a 1960 graduate of the University of Richmond and the couple has been long-time supporters of Spider Athletics.
With the help of a generous contribution from the Buggs', the former Spider Sports Center student fitness center was converted into a weight room for Richmond's athletic teams with state-of-the-art equipment.
Thanks to the Buggs' contribution the Strength & Conditioning Center includes all new equipment, including power stations, Olympic sets, adjustable benches, and dumbbells.
"This is another example of Bill and Elaine's commitment to the success of our student-athletes," said University of Richmond athletic director Jim Miller. "We are very grateful for their continued support!"
