UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. Richmond senior Jordan Utley was named VaSID First-Team All-State for the second-straight year in voting conducted among the state's sports information directors.
The Richmond, Va. native was one of just five collegiate golfers in the state to receive this honor.
"Even after he has graduated, Jordan continues to have the awards come pouring in," Richmond men's golf coach Adam Decker said. "Jordan had a brilliant career at Richmond and it is great to see him recognized for his performance."
Utley led the Spiders in scoring average this spring at 72.75, which ranked fourth in the Atlantic 10. He shot 10 of his 26 rounds below par and finished four tournaments sub-par. Utley had four top-5 finishes and seven top-10 finishes in 2007-08.
He finished his career with two tournament victories, winning the ODU/Seascape Invitational last fall and the Joe Agee Invitational in the spring of 2007.
The former Mills Godwin High standout was also recently named to the prestigious PING All-Mid Atlantic Region Team for a third time and earned Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference honors for the second-straight year.
Utley shot 8-under 208 (70-69-69) to place fourth at this spring's Atlantic 10 Tournament and earn all-conference honors.
