Spiders Finish 15th At Palmetto Intercollegiate

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - Senior Anne Sprick finished 31st to lead the Richmond women's golf team to a 15th-place finish at the Palmetto Intercollegiate on Tuesday at Oak Point Golf Club.
Richmond shot a final round 307 after rounds of 313 and 312 to finish at 932, three shots behind Mississippi State in a highly competitive field.
Sprick shot a 4-over-par 76 in the final round after rounds of 78 and 1-over 73 to finish at 11-over 227 and in 31st place out of 93 golfers.
Freshman Courtney Rousse shot a career-low 74 in Tuesday's final round to finish in a tie for 48th at 232. Rousse had shot a 77 in the opening round and an 81 in the second round.
Senior Lauren Folgosa tied for 67th at 236 (79-78-79) and freshman Tracy Martin tied for 76th at 239 (79-82-78). Freshman Caroline Lovette finished 84th at 243 (83-80-80).
This was the last tournament of the fall for the Spiders.
"The team is getting better and better," Richmond first-year head coach Jill Briles-Hinton said. "It is a slow process but steady. Anything worth waiting for takes time. The team is putting in a wonderful effort and we are all looking forward to what the spring will bring."
