
Women's Golf Announces Incoming Class Of 2009-10

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Richmond women's golf coach Leighann Albaugh announced the addition of four student-athletes for the 2009-10 season.
Grace Kingdom (Wilmette, Ill.), Tracy Martin (Tyngsboro, Mass.), Courtney Rousse (Apex, N.C.) and Caroline Lovette (Davidsville, Pa.) will be freshmen this fall for the Spiders.

"I am extremely excited about this year's recruiting class, which is very strong," Albaugh said. "They are all highly motivated with clear goals and visions for their roles in elevating Spider Golf to the next level."
Kingdom was an honor roll student and three-year starter on the golf team at New Trier Township High for coach Scott Fricke. She was named Central Suburban League All-Conference and a Central Suburban League Scholar-Athlete in 2008, along with serving as the team captain. Kingdom led New Trier Township to an undefeated record in both tournaments and matches in 2008 and the team finished third at the state championships.

Martin was an honor roll student and four-year starter on the coed golf team at Bishop Guertin High in Nashua, N.H. The Tyngsboro, Mass. native was the first female on the golf team in school history and was the team captain as a junior and senior. Martin was the New Hampshire girls' high school champion in 2005, 2007 and 2008 and was the New England High School Girls' Champion in 2007, shooting a 72, and in 2008, shooting a 65. Martin was the 2005 Nashua Telegraph Player of the Year and was named the 2006 Nashua Telegraph All-Star Team. She was also named the 2006 and 2007 Lowell Sun Player of the Year.
Rousse is a National Honor Society student who was a four-year letter winner and team captain at Apex High in Holly Springs, N.C. She was a four-year all-conference selection and was the 2007 East Regional Runner-Up and 4A State Championship Runner-Up. Rousse won conference Player of the Year her senior year in 2008-09 and won five times on the EJGA junior tour and once on the TGTJ tour. Rousse competed on the AJGA tour and was a National AP Scholar Award winner.
