Women's Golf Opens Spring Season At Kiawah Island

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - The Richmond women's golf team shot a 330 and is in 32nd place out of 43 teams after the first round of the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic played Sunday at Oak Point Golf Club.
The second round of the Spiders' spring opener will be played Monday and the third and final round is on Tuesday.
"This was the first tournament round of the spring, but I thought the girls did a good job," Richmond head coach Leighann Albaugh said. "We just have to go out the next two days and continue to improve."
Junior Anne Sprick shot a 9-over 81 and is tied for 103rd out of 215 golfers. Junior Lauren Folgosa and freshman Jackie Evans each shot 82s and are tied for 119th.
Junior Victoria Kidder is tied for 151st with an 85 and sophomore Jillian Fraccola is tied for 161st at 86.
