CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Senior Tim Courtney finished at 3-over-par and the Richmond men's golf team took 10th out of 15 teams at the Palisades Collegiate Classic, completed Tuesday at Palisades Golf Club.
The Spiders shot an 11-over 299 in the final round Tuesday to finish at 886, nine shots behind three-time Atlantic 10 Champion Charlotte, the tournament's host. Richmond had shot a season-low 2-under-par 286 in the second round and a 301 in the first round.
"We weren't able to duplicate Monday's second round, but we played pretty well throughout the tournament," Richmond head coach Adam Decker said.
Senior Tim Courtney tied for 26th at 3-over 219, after shooting rounds of 1-over 73, even-par 72 and 2-over 74 on the 6,797-yard course. Sophomore Sam Beach tied for 35th at 6-over 222 with rounds of 75, 73 and 74, while junior Robert Lindstrom tied for 39th at 224, shooting a 78 in the first round, a 1-under-par 71 in the second and a 75 in the third.

The Spiders return to action on Friday, April 24 at the 2009 Atlantic 10 Championship at Mission Inn in Orlando, Fla.
"We have some time to practice before heading to Florida, and we know what we need to work on," Decker said. "We should be ready to go."
