Men's Golf In Fifth Place Entering Final Round Of Marshall Invitational

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Richmond sophomore Michael Shrader is tied for ninth and the Spiders are in fifth place out of 16 teams after two rounds of the Marshall Invitational.
The Spiders are at 587 after rounds of 292 and 295 on the par-71, 6,484-yard Guyan Country Club course.
Richmond is 12 shots behind first-place Illinois, eight shots behind second place Ball State, four shots back of third-place Xavier and three shots behind fourth-place DePaul entering the third and final round on Saturday.
"We played pretty well, but hopefully we can come out tomorrow and put together a really solid round as a team," Richmond head coach Adam Decker said. "Michael played well today, especially in the second round."
Shrader shot a 4-over 75 in the first round and a 1-under 70 in the second round to sit in a tie for ninth at 3-over 145.
Junior Robert Lindstrom is tied for 13th at 4-over 146 after shooting a 1-over 72 in the first round and a 3-over 74 in the second round.
Sophomore Sam Beach is tied for 33rd at 149 after shooting a 1-over 72 in the morning round and a 6-over 77 in the afternoon round. Freshman Brad Miller is tied for 45th at 151 having shot a 2-over 73 and 7-over 78.
Sophomore Zak Kozuchowski is tied for 65th in his Richmond debut. After an opening round 83, Kozuchowski shot a 3-over 74 in the afternoon round and is at 157.
