
Lindstrom Named To Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar Team

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Rising senior men's golfer Robert Lindstrom was named to the Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar Team.
To be selected to the Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar Team, Lindstrom needed to participate in 70-percent of his team's competitive, have a scoring average under 76.0 and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2.
Lindstrom was second on the team with a 75.14 scoring average, competing in all 10 of the Spiders' tournaments. He had two top-5 finishes and three top-15 finishes, including placing third at the Georgetown Intercollegiate. Lindstrom finished 12th at the 2009 Atlantic 10 Championships, including a 2-under-par 69 in the final round.
The Birmingham, Ala. native, transferred to Richmond after his freshman year at Birmingham Southern. Lindstrom was named to the PING All-Mid Atlantic Team as a sophomore, when he was second on the team with a 73.31 scoring average with seven rounds under par.
"This is a great honor for Robert," Richmond head coach Adam Decker said. "He takes care of business both in the classroom and on the golf course. We're looking forward to him having an even better senior season."
Lindstrom is the third player under Decker to be named to the All-America Scholar Team. John Pelet earned the honor in 2007 and Jordan Utley was a two-time selection in 2007 and 2008.
