Women's Golf Takes 3rd At Spider Invitational

MIDLOTHIAN, Va. - Sophomore Carolina Lovette finished eighth and sophomore Tracy Martin tied for 10th to lead the Richmond women's golf team to a third-place finish at the Spider Invitational, played Monday and Tuesday at Independence Golf Club.
The Spiders shot a 314 in the opening round, 303 in the second round and a 326 in the final round to finish at 943.
Lovette, who won the Spider Invitational in her collegiate debut last year, shot a pair of 78s on Monday and a 4-over 76 in Tuesday's final round to finish at 232.
Martin finished two shots behind Lovette in a tie for 10th at 234, which included a 1-under-par 71 in the second round on Monday afternoon.
Freshman Lauren Conder tied for 15th at 238 (78-81-79). Freshman Daniel Pinder tied for 19th at 239, which included a 1-over-par 73 in Monday afternoon's second round. Sophomore Courtney Rousse tied for 47th at 264.
Playing as individuals, freshman Krystin Schwarze finished 39th at 256 and freshman Viiviana Pereze tied for 42nd at 260.
The Spider Invitational was the final fall tournament for Richmond. The Spiders open the spring season Feb. 20-22 at the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic.
