UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -
The Spider Sports Network has teamed with its flagship radio station, ESPN 950, to bring live programming - including game broadcasts and talk shows - to the most popular smartphones - including Android, Blackberry and I-Phone. Fans can go to espn950am.com/m on their mobile phones to access this free audio service.
Fans will be able to hear all basketball and football games and talk shows that air on ESPN 950. Listeners of the station's popular local sports programming such SportsPhone with Big Al and Hardly Workin' with Greg Burton can now hear those shows live as well.
ESPN 950 will also stream nationally-syndicated ESPN Radio programming including Mike & Mike in the Morning, Colin Cowherd and Scott Van Pelt. In addition to the variety of sports talk, play-by-play can be heard via the new mobile stream including every Washington Redskins football game. Listeners are encouraged to bookmark the link as a favorite on their mobile web browser for easy access to ESPN 950 and Richmond Spiders broadcasts.
Richmond Athletics has partnered with ESPN 950 to provide the mobile audio service free of charge. "The ability for Spider fans to have free access to our broadcasts on their mobile device is an important addition to our existing network, which already includes radio, satellite and internet streaming," said Bob Black, the school's Assistant Athletic Director for Communications and play-by-play Voice of the Spiders. "We're thrilled to team with ESPN 950 on this exciting venture that gives our fans yet another way to stay in touch with the Spiders."
"This is also another way for our listeners to take us with them anywhere they go," adds ESPN 950 Operations Director Mitchell Bradley. "We know that people can't always listen to us on the radio, so we are doing our best to keep our loyal listeners connected to ESPN 950 no matter where they are."
The Spider Sports Network from IMG College is presented by nTelos Wireless and can now be heard on conventional AM and FM radio, Sirius Satellite Radio, the internet, and mobile. In addition to listening to ESPN 950 via mobile devices, the station also streams its programming on its website at espn950am.com.
