Women's Soccer Announces 2010 Recruiting Class

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -
The Richmond women's soccer 2010 recruiting class features eight student-athletes, six of which are from the Commonwealth.
"I think it's very possible that some may make an immediate impact and compete for spots in a lineup of veterans that returns nearly intact from 2009," said head coach Peter Albright. "More importantly, though, this group has the talent and character to add quality and depth to every position on the field for years to come."
Rachael Creamer-Midlothian, VA
Rachel is an accomplished central defender who played her club soccer for FC Richmond and captained the Midlothian High School team from 2008-2010. Rachel earned All Region First Team honors in '09.
Crystal Koczot- Wheaton,MD
Crystal is a playmaking forward who plays her club soccer for the top ranked Bethesda Dragons. She led her Good Counsel High School team to the 2009 WCAC Championship and was named first team All Gazette, 1st Team All State, NSCAA All-South, NSCAA Scholar All American, and All Met Player of the Year.
Erin Layne- Midlothian VA
A great athlete athlete, Erin is a high scoring forward for Midlothian High School and a lock-down defender for her FC Richmond Club Team. A 2008 and 2009 All District, All Region performer, Layne led the region in scoring and garnered All Met honors en route to being named All State in 2009.
Kristen Lybert- Woodbridge, VA
Kristen is an attacking midfielder/forward who played her club soccer for Vista Fury (2007 VA State Champion) and Loudoun Legends. At Woodbridge High, she heads into her Senior year with 76 goals and 27 assists and is the reigning 2009 District Player of the Year, earning First Team All Met, First Team All Region and All State as well as ESPN Rise All American.
Kelsey Martin- Bloomfield Hills Michigan
Kelsey is a 4 year starting midfielder at Cranbrook Kingswood Academy where she earned All District and All Conference Honors in 2008 and 2009, leading her team in goals and assists. She plays club soccer for the '08 and '09 State Finalist Michigan Hawks.
Courtney Roach-Chesapeake, VA
A high scoring forward for 2008 and '09 Southern District Champions Hickory High School, Courtney plays Center Back for her VA Nike Rush Club team, helping them to the '08 and '09 state finals.
Jensen Smith Springfield, VA
A teammate of current Spider LeighAnne Baxter, Jensen helped to lead Robinson to the 2008 VA State HS Championship. An accomplished track athlete and proven goal scorer, Jensen plays her club soccer for U-20 Virginia Majestics.
Becca Wann- Midlothian VA
A standout soccer and basketball player at Cosby HS, Becca plans to play both sports at UR. She was named All District, All Met, All Region and All State in soccer in 2008 and 2009, and led her team in goals and assists for the past three years. After being named to the All District and All Region Basketball teams in 2009, Becca is enjoying a banner senior year with the top ranked Cosby Basketball Titans. A strong holding midfielder and target player on the soccer field, Becca is expected to add strength and aerial power to the Spiders attack.
