MIDLOTHIAN, Va. -- The Richmond women's golf team is in action for the first time in nearly a month, hosting the Spider Invitational at Independence Monday and Tuesday.
The 10-team field plays 36 holes beginning at 8:30 Monday morning, with the final 18 holes set for Tuesday. Richmond is joined in the field by Boston College, Brown, Hampton, Hofstra, Navy, Radford, Sacred Heart, St. John's and Towson.
Richmond finished third at last year's Spider Invitational and was led by the eighth-place finish from Caroline Lovette (78-78-76=232). Penn is the defending team champion, with the Quakers Isabel Han the reigning medalist.
The Spiders were last in action at the Cougar Classic in mid-September, with Tracy Martin leading the way for Richmond. The junior finished T67 against a competitive field as the Spiders finished 21st as a team.
