Mannon, McGovern Win Events At Ram Invitational

RICHMOND, Va. - Alli Mannon won the 1,500m and Meaghan McGovern won the hammer throw on Saturday, withstanding harsh rain and wind conditions at the Ram Invitational in Richmond, Va.
Freshman Alli Mannon won the women's 1,500m with a time of 4:41.60, while freshman Amanda Lineberry placed fifth (4:51.71), sophomore Lydia Morton came in seventh (4:56.96), and freshman Molly Parsons took eighth (4:59.29). Also, redshirt-freshman Devin Sullivan debuted her Richmond career with a 10th-place finish (5:00.31).
Junior Meaghan McGovern won the hammer throw competition with a mark of 51.66m.
Senior X'auntasia Johnson came in second in the triple jump with a mark of 10.00m and second in the long jump (5.42m).
Senior Monica Howard placed second in the discus throw (43.73m) and fifth in the hammer throw (43.85M).
Freshman Alyson McGonigle finished second in the 800m (2:21.92), followed by Stephanie Paradis in fourth (2:22.79) and Brennan Long in 10th (2:30.19).
Freshman Liz Schinski came in fourth in the 3,000m steeplechase (11:49.31).
Tim Quinn captured second in the 1,500m (3:57.13) under rain and strong winds.
Matt Mello won the second heat of the 800m (2:00.58) in strong winds.
Tremayne Graham won the fourth heat of the 100m in 10.84. His time currently ranks 147th in the NCAA East Region.
The Spiders return to action next weekend at the James Madison Invitational in Harrisonburg, Va.
