PRINCETON, N.J. - Four members of the Spiders' track & field team head back to Richmond, Va. after competing in the Larry Ellis Invitational on Friday. The meet was hosted by Princeton University and held on campus at William Weaver Stadium.
"It was a good night for us, including a season best for Meaghan and personal bests for Tim, Jenn and Erin," said men's head coach Steve Taylor. "Tim's effort in the 5,000m will be close to getting him into the NCAA Regional Championships. Erin also ran extremely well, especially considering she had surgery on her knee roughly 6 weeks ago. We are proud of their efforts."
Redshirt-senior Jenn Ennis took first-place in the fifth heat of the women's 1,500m. Her time of 4:35.49 set a personal best.
In the 5,000m, senior Erin Lunny finished eighth in her heat and set a personal best with a time of 17:27.47.
Junior Meaghan McGovern came in third in the hammer throw competition. She set a 2011 season best with her mark of 53.96m.
Senior Tim Quinn came in eighth and set a personal best in the men's 5,000m race with a time of 14:08.96.
