Fraccola Finishes 5th, Spiders 7th At CAA

PINEHURST, N.C. - Richmond senior Jillian Fraccola tied for fifth to lead the Richmond women's golf team to a seventh-place finish at the 2011 CAA Championship, played at Pinehurst No. 6.
Fraccola finished the 54-hole tournament at 11-over-par 227 to finish five shots behind medalist Charlotte Guilleux of Georgia State. Fraccola shot a 1-over-par 73 in the first round, followed by 5-over 77s in the second and third round. She was one shot out of fourth place, three shots out of third and four shots out of second place.
The Spiders finished seventh out of 10 teams at 943, two shots behind sixth-place William & Mary and 10 shots behind fifth-place Old Dominion. Richmond shot a 309 in the first round, 323 in the second round and 311 in the third round.
Richmond sophomore Tracy Martin finished 22nd at 238. Martin shot a 76 in the first round, 83 in the second round and 79 in Sunday's final round.
Sophomore Caroline Lovette and freshman Lauren Conder tied for 23rd at 239. Lovette shot a 78 in the first round, 84 in the second round and 77 in the final round. Conder shot an 82 in the first round, 79 in the second round and 78 Sunday. Senior Christina Gray finished 49th at 288.
