HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - After one of its best regular seasons in school history, the Richmond men's golf team will look to win its first Atlantic 10 Championship this weekend at Mission Inn Resort.
The first round of the 54-hole tournament is Friday with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. Follow Golfstat's Live Scoring here at RichmondSpiders.com.
The Spiders' best finish in their nine Atlantic 10 Championship appearances is a runner-up finish last spring at Mission Inn. Charlotte has had a stranglehold on the Atlantic 10 title since joining the league in 2005-06, but the Spiders finished ahead of the 49ers when the two teams played in the VCU Shootout earlier this season.
Richmond has finished in the top-5 in eight of the nine tournaments this season, including finishing in the top-3 in six of the last seven tournaments and in the top-2 in four of the last seven.
All five of Richmond's players at Mission Inn (Sam Beach, Michael Shrader, Brad Miller, Nick Austin, Daniel Walker) have a scoring average under 73.0, with four of the players averaging under 72.0 and three averaging under 71.0.
The second round is a shotgun start on Saturday and Sunday will have tee times starting at 8 a.m.
