RICHMOND, Va. - After earning medalist honors and helping lead the University of Richmond to the team title at the Wendy's Invitational earlier this week, Spider senior golfer Tracy Martin was named the CAA Golfer of the Week on Wednesday, the conference office announced.
Martin was fantastic for the Spiders this week, becoming just the second golfer in program history to earn medalist honors in a full-field event. "Tracy was so solid all week," Richmond head coach Maggie Will said of Martin. "She stayed within herself, played her game and was patient with her putter. Just a great, solid showing all tournament long."
After shooting rounds of 70-73 on Monday, the Tyngsboro, Mass. native carded a final round 72 (E) to win the individual title. Martin's total of 215 (-1) ties her own 54-hole school record she set at the Spider Invitational last season.
The Richmond women's golf team will be back in action on October 22-23 when the team will play in the Fighting Camel Classic in Buies Creek, North Carolina.
