Richmond Men's Golf Begins Spring Season on Monday

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Richmond men's golf team will begin the spring season at the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday. The tournament, which is hosted by Francis Marion University, will be played at the Wexford Plantation course on Hilton Head Island.
Teams will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday at the Intercollegiate. Both days will begin with shotgun starts at 8:30 a.m. The Wexford Plantation course will measure 6,828 yards for the tournament and will have a par-72 layout.
The 18-team field for the tournament this season includes Richmond, Francis Marion, Davidson College, DePaul University, Elon University, Furman University, Georgia State University, University of Hartford, University of Louisville, Marshall University, Ohio University, Presbyterian College, Radford University, Samford University, USC Aiken, Western Carolina University, and the College of William & Mary.
Last season, the Spiders placed third out of 13 teams at the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate. Daniel Walker and Michael Shrader led the charge for Richmond, with each tying for eighth place.
