
Spider Women's Golf Set For Pinehurst Challenge

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Richmond Spiders women's golf team will travel south to Pinehurst, North Carolina this week to play in the Pinehurst Challenge, hosted by the College of Charleston.
The 54-hole tournament will be played on the prestigious Pinehurst No. 6 course beginning on Monday. Teams will play 36 holes on Monday with a shotgun start beginning at 9 a.m. and will then conclude play with the third and final round on Tuesday. The final round will also be a shotgun start, beginning at 8:45 a.m.
The 17 teams participating in the 2012 Pinehurst Challenge will be Richmond, College of Charleston, East Carolina, Elon, Georgetown, James Madison, Marshall, Maryland, Middle Tennessee State, N.C. State, UNCG, UNCW, Old Dominion, Penn State, Samford, Tennessee Tech, and Western Michigan.
Sophomore Lauren Conder will look to continue her strong play of late this week. At The Spider at St. James, Conder tied for third place, notching her second top-five finish of the season. Tying for 15th at the tournament was junior Caroline Lovette, who tallied her second top-20 finish of the season.
